Our guide goes in narrative chronological order of all the Star Wars movies, animated shows, spin-offs, and Disney+ TV shows. Behold the chronological Star Wars viewing timeline. If the thought of that is daunting, don't worry, that's where we come in. Instead, we've got four decades' worth of movies and TV shows, live-action and animated, to get through. Now as wonderful as the written material about Star Wars is, we've not included it in this timeline or we'd be here for an eternity – and so would you. There's season two of Disney+ series The Mandalorian, not to mention novels and comic books, including an upcoming series set in the High Republic era that is getting rave reviews. We may not get a new Star Wars movie until 2023, but that doesn't mean there isn't new and exciting material to get stuck into. Thanks to Disney+ we can watch and rewatch the best (and worst) that Star Wars has to offer. While the movies featuring Luke, Leia, and Han – not to mention Rey, Finn, and Poe – will live on in our hearts, those characters have been set aside for new explorations in the galaxy.īut that doesn't mean our favourite friends are gone forever. But Star Wars has proven itself to be a franchise capable of pivoting into new and exciting worlds. The Rise of Skywalker saw the end of the Skywalker saga as we know it.
